This little bird ornament is named Tumaini which in Swahili means trust. This is the signature bird for Mifuko Trust - their non-profit organization that aims to improve the lives of artisans and their communities through projects like Wash and Grow project which builds dry toilets.
Tumaini has been carved out of a fallen jacaranda tree and can be hung from its ribbon on a doorway, in a window or Christmas tree. Or use to decorate a holiday package.
Mifuko is a certified member of the World Fair Trade organization and each of their ornaments is signed by the artisan who made it.
