There is truly nothing better than vintage French wicker to add that perfect layer of lived-in warmth and texture to a room.
This is an authentic 1950’s Mid-Century Modern magazine rack, attributed to French modernist designer Raul Guys. It features the most beautiful, rich natural rattan hand-woven over a sleek, black - lacquered iron frame. The Winged silhouette and integrated central handle make it just as functional as it is sculptural.
The craftsmanship on this piece is stunning - the vertical rattan bundles loop perfectly over the top frame with that classic, tight French lock-weave. It has the most gorgeous, subtle variations in the natural wood tone that you get with real aged vintage pieces.
Origin: France
Materials: Natural woven rattan/wicker paired with a black lacquered wrought iron frame
Features a minimalist, linear structure with hairpin-style feet, and integrated central carry handle, and a distinct V-shaped storage body liner with woven wicker strips.
Excellent vintage condition. The frame is structurally solid, the feet are steady, and the wicker is beautifully intact with only the gentles wear consistent with its age and history.
