Antique Hungarian Water Jug with Stripe and Floral detailing

A beautiful earthenware water jug from Hungary. This piece has lovely stripe and floral detailing. Traditional European folk art, specifically hand-thrown earthenware from Hungary. 

This water jug features a bulbous terracotta body decorated with naive, hand-painted floral morifs on the upper section and distinctive incised or painted horizontal stripes around the base. 

Historically crafted from local clay to store liquids and naturally keep drinking water cool.

11 1/2" tall with the widest diameter being 6 1/2". Bottom diameter3 1/2".
