Japanese hinoki cypress wood pestles : 5"

These high quality pestles are made from Japanese hinoki (cypress) wood. The pestles no longer come w/ a hanging loop - use the hole at the top if desired to hang the pestles from a hook. Or, add your own loop upon receiving. Available in 5 sizes. (Not shown in the pic is the 5") - The 5" (13cm) pestle is approx. 7/8" diameter. - The 6" (16cm) pestle is approx. 1" diameter. - The 7" (18cm) pestle is approx. 1" diameter. - The 8" (21cm) pestle is approx. 1" in diameter. - The 12" (30cm) pestle is approx. 1 1/4" diameter. The appropriate length of a pestle is approx. twice the diameter of the mortar you are pairing it with, however, can vary depending on what you are crushing. Hand wash and dry immediately. Do not microwave, put in the dishwasher, or get near an open flame. Since this is made from natural wood there can be varying shades of wood and grain pattern (or lack of grain). Some pestles can have knot marks that appear to be a smudge or stain (see closeup photo
